Hello friends, Poor HR has suffered for a number of months due to inactivity, though we still have a handful of loyal members who regularly show up and post here. We all have been understandably busy, but I think there's still a 'pilot light' of possibility here. This is what I propose: I do think it's time for HR to be resurrected, especially since there seems to be a want for that around here. Unfortunately, the board has become overtaken by spam bots, as well as old, moldy threads. I propose that we pick up and MOVE OUT. It would be fantastic to start over with HR in a new era--HR version 3, I'd say. All the future RPs would be of course, based on HR's past, but we could start fresh with new graphics, a clean board, and our handful of members. Whether we move out or not, of course, is entirely NOT up to me--it's up to you guys and the other authorities. I think it would be beneficial, but surely some of you might see some downsides to it. POST ALL YOUR THOUGHTS HERE :) Here is what I think would be good about it: - We'd be able to start cleanly over with our old characters if wished, leaving behind anything we didn't like
- We'd be able to re-organize entirely--we could organize a publicity committee to get the word out for our place, we'd be able to set guidelines and rules based on our old ones, but better because of the experience behind us.
- We could work on the Promo still, with more experience and a less cluttered head
- We could re-animate the appeal of the place with vibrant mood-setting graphics, text, etc. to convey an overall feeling for the place, rather than live in our dusty, cob-webby, cluttered dungeon here (though that does seem appropriate in a manner of speaking, though not necessarily good-RP-effective)
Those are just a few things that are highly disorganized on my part due to my having just woken up, but do let me know how you feel about this proposition. I do feel that it is time HR took a turn for the better :)

I'm usually not one for moving forums, but it sounds pretty good to me. Do you have the e-mail-all power thing, to remind everyone, "Hey, this site exists, do you want to come back?"
As I mentioned on the Tagboard, I was thinking that we could perhaps make a short promotional comic, perhaps about a new Hellhound's escape from the labs and joining of P4?

^ I pretty much automatically agree with everything Josie's said. It'd be nice to give this place a fresh start; I've noticed we have a lot of old, dead threads hanging around/

I like the idea, plus, by starting new, it could help clean out the inactive members so if any really want to stay apart of HR, they'd just move with us. Plus we do have a lot of dead boards lurking about and it makes the current deadness of this place more obvious.

Seeing as how us 4 are probably the only people who have been on for weeks, your response, Dommy? And have you discussed this with Jigg?
I really don't want this place to die, it has so much potential.

We need to pull Riv back on here...

I think Riv would come back if we asked her. Yeah, this place is too good and has too solid a story to die. SO many imaginative creatures have come out of this forum.
Josie - the comic idea is GREAT if you ask me :3 That will be really cool if we can see it through. It's definitely more of a possibility than an animated thing, though I do intend to do that as well eventually (I'm gonna teach myself Flash).
I'm going to send a group notice out, I think, like you suggested. I'll do what I can to grab attention of people and bring them back, and I'll try to personally contact River. If any of you can as well, be my guest - she'll like to know that people are thinking of her.
The other thing that has to be discussed is what forum server we're going to use for the new forum. Do we want to use proboards again, or move to something more advanced? Invisionfree is an option that I like, though it's a bit buggy, but I recently found a new one called Forumotion.com. It looks really good to me--we could use that if you guys want, too. I'll probably put a poll up once I get a few more suggestions of free forum servers--any ideas?

Does InvisionFree have some of the useful little features of Proboards, mass e-mails and lots of personalization and such? It does look a lot cleaner, from what I've seen, but Proboards are usually simpler to remember. I think. I don't pay a great amount of attention to URLs. There's also phpBB's Freeforums.org, which could be nice. *goes to check it out* And we should make an advertising team. Get the word out on larger forums, make it sound all interesting and mysterious, try to show people that we're different from your standard RP forum... Psychology and TV Production are a deadly force when used together for the power of ADVERTISING. XD

Hey, I know a chunk of us go (or used to, I think for the most part), on the BBA forums; so I can't believe I'm saying this, but I think that's the kind of crowd we're aiming for here- feral roleplayers. So those of us who go there can advertise. That's the only RP forum I know of to advertise on. /shrug.

We'll worry about advertising once we get set up in a new home--no worries. We can organize a publicity committee First we have to have the big word from Jiggy, and get Riv back, though. Unfortunately I haven't gotten around to contacting either of them

We need some major updated rules. New standards if you will. WE NEED MODS!!! I think that is/was part of the downfall. Why would anyone want to RP if there's no one to approve their profile. Mods are the things that keep the board going, cause they got to be here. Seriously though, more mods. btw, I've been busy as HELL. Dudes, 17 credits and work! 12 of those credits being art course, two courses (6 credits) of which are advanced. I have little time other then to glance things over.

Yeah, I'd propose that all of you guys would be mods when we move. Sorry I've been slacking on this, even--I've been unexpectedly busy, too, but hopefully that'll change. Now, the biggest thing keeping me busy is my huge graphic novel project, which I've been struggling to get moving for some time now. In any case, I'll try to get moving on that mass email ASAP, and if you guys could contact Jigg and Riv on DA, that would save me a HUGE amount of time-- their DAs are: River: avyris.deviantart.comJiggsaw: ripwing.deviantart.comFor easy access. It'd be better if they got more than one message, also--it'd probably encourage them to come back much more strongly.

Got the note!
I am SO sorry that I've been inactive. My mocks are next week, so I've been revising, as well as trying to get comissions done. I'msosososorry. >.<
Anyway, I think it sounds like a brilliant idea. BUT, on the subject on forum-creators, it would be best for me if we stuck to proboards. My laptop really hates board sites. It only just works for Proboards, but Invisionfree freezes it and most others I've tried have slowed it down nastily. However, I can get onto Proboards on my dad's laptop, which he lets me use a lot of the time. I'm still more attatched to Proboards. ^^;;

I third that - so, is it confirmed that we stay on proboards? That being the case, what should the new 'username' be? hellionreign2? Any suggestions?
(P.S. Jiggy - I just wrote you a reply to a comment asking you to check HR out again, and idiotically, I hadn't seen that you'd come here yesterday. Sorrysorrysorry!!)

No worries, Dommie.
And, as for the username...hmm...maybe something without numbers. I really have something against them. We could change the username to something...uhmm...I dunno. Perhaps a short line from a song that fits the site, or even a word? Maybe something in latin? -blurting out random ideas-
