Anybody who's played it (River XD I heard you mention it), what's it like? Is it good, and most importantly, how creative can you get with it? I've been dying to either play or interact with Domnopalus in some way on a game, though I don't think you can get that fancy on Impossible Creatures, but is it satisfying enough?
I'm looking into the demo at the mo, by the way.

It's the greatest real-time strategy game ever. Basically, it's about this dude on another planet who's father invented this contraption that can blend two animals together and it's your job to keep the tech from falling into the wrong hands. It tries to have this really emotional surprising plot but it fails miserably...
However, the gameplay is fun. Pretty much, you have a rather wide selection of animals from fish to sharks to crocs to birds, wolves, coyotes and on. Pick two and merge them at will, swapping limbs from one to the other. I don't think you can create Dommie specifically, since you have to download the horse and it remains black in color no matter what you do, but you could do something similar. Put a croc's head and tail on a horse's body (a creature I have actually created already) and you got something pretty close.
Using this method of creation, you create whole armies of these things and run a muck and kill people yeah. The career mode is stupid and there really isn't any reason to mess with it but the single player and multiplayer modes are great fun, particularly if you use cheat codes. It's so much fun to toy with your opponent. ^^
It's a good game though if you like animals, since you get to mess with a wide variety of them. It's also a good art reference since every animal moves differently and the graphics are pretty good considering. I've used it to reference a few cat pictures and multiple animations. In the army builder area, you can spin the creatures around and watch them run in place. good refs indeed...

I so wanted this game when it came out, but I had a really bad comp that couldn't even play the demo...
I need to look for it. Always wanted to mix critters.

That'd probably work better. Now I just have to get my first pay check next month.
