Parallel Intruder

[Domnopalus]

The swamp beastie, recently departed from an unsuccessful attempt to find an ally--or rather, a successful attempt at finding potential prey--raised his head to the surface of the water, so only the ridges of his nose and brow accompanied by a halfly obscured set of six glowing white eyes could be seen, almost as if a rock had settled itself on the water. He drifted and glided along the surface toward the banks and raised himself, dripping with foul water and draped in rotten seaweed onto the land of the P4 Jungle.

He was not seeking to join any vengeful crowd here, but rather to have the crowd join him, or at least to talk with the leaders of the area on subject of plan of attack. How he lusted to cause those humans to meet their bitter ends. He knew that he was not alone in his thinking, either.

For now, however, none of this was foremost in his mind. His mood seemed to swing along the lines of luxury or conversation, as they often did. His sense of pride and perhaps even vanity kept him sane the majority of the time. At the moment, all he was looking for was some form of company, welcome or not.

Simply huge paws padded across the dying, muggy floor of the jungle which grew, or rather wilted, in the territory of the P4 Army.
Army. The owner of the paw’s rolled his pink & white eyes in frustration. Some fucking army.
Only the huge mutated dog knew what he was thinking, but even his own thoughts were hard to translate, he rarely knew what he was thinking these days.

A howl told him that somewhere further north his loyal and most trusted deputy had started up a recruitment. Scarr, I’m so glad you are my second-in-command. No one else would care for clan growth.
He didn’t refer to his army as a pack anymore. Only dogs had packs. It had been 4 years since he had been a dog. He flinched as he remembered the pain he had gone through back then. “Bastards…” He whispered out loud.

A splashing made him turn in the direction of the murky river that fed the area to his right. He wondered what strange creature had caused the sound. Not humans. They were to fretful of him to enter here. Not his members. They were all at camp or hopefully with Scarr and after all, it wasn’t their drinking time right now, it would have been Scarr’s but he had obviously forgotten due to his recruitment. Quite right too. He grinned, huge mutated fangs glinting in the weak sun.
He shook his huge shaggy head to bring him back to the present and began to head toward the river.

He half expected to see something drinking, instead he saw a large, green face glaring out of the depths. It was definitely part equine. Hopefully a new ally he thought. He had always favored horses in brains and fighting spirit. They were decent creatures.
“ Greetings, friend. What brings you to the river of P4? ”

"Whyyyyy hello, friend," the beast replied greasily as he pulled himself completely out of the foul river. "The rivers and swamps are my domain, canid beastie, and this jungle I presume is yours?" he raised his head slowly around in admiration of the place. He turned his head to look straight at the hound and begun to drool greenish acidic saliva as he grinned at it. Then he continued, "Judging by your flashy appearance you are another who is, how shall I put it, wild, then transformed, and then ended up even wilder than you had begun? You must share the hateful passion that I do then, friend. How shall I call you by name, dear canid?"

Sitting himself before the river The Leader looked down at the strange, grinning creature. Listening to its greasy speech and slurring words.

The rivers and swamps are my domain, canid beastie, and this jungle I presume is yours?

" You are correct in thinking that. This jungle belongs to the P4 Army. "
He nodded in a satisfactory fashion as he spoke. This horse-creature was well mannered, but the use of the word 'beastie' slightly annoyed him. He shook off the thought and continued to listen to the next lines of speech.

Judging by your flashy appearance you are another who is, how shall I put it, wild, then transformed, and then ended up even wilder than you had begun?

" I don't know about flashy, equine. But yes, my appearance is feared by the bastards who made me like this. And I am 'wild' as you put it. "

You must share the hateful passion that I do then, friend. How shall I call you by name, dear canid?

" If you speak of the metal-hearted humans you are correct in guessing my hate. I go by many names, by the twolegs I am known as 'Experiment P4' by my comrades I am known as 'The Leader' but as you are neither you may call me Leader Jiggsaw, or if that is two much of a mouthful, then Jiggsaw is fine. What title are you labeled by then green one? "

[Domnopalus]

"Ahhh," this was a throaty, hissy, reptilian sound, "Indeed you are. I might have guessed it was you, Jiggsaw, the feared one who destroyed the old labs...just after I had escaped them myself." His six eyes squinted with his mouth curling into a tighter grin, forcing more drool to seep out from between his teeth and drip to the ground, leaving steaming burn marks in their wake. He opened his mouth and let his tongue fall out, his grin remaining, and he proceeded to speak in a frightful, raspy, throaty tone, "Those miserable twolegged creatures will feel our pain from so long ago...," he licked his thin lips, "and then perish." The thought lingered in him explicitly and then he reared his heavy head around to clear himself of the images and return to reality. His grin returned to his usual mysterious one, rather than the piercing one with crystal clear intentions previously seen.

"Don't you agree?" he added, rather jauntily for the occasion. But then he answered the hound's question, in his usual deep, greasy voice, "My domain is the swamp. Every and all swamps there are is my domain," he looked around, as if to encompass it all, "And so I am known as the Lord of the Swamp," he concluded, rather simply and looked at the hound in the eyes with a satisfied smile. "However," he continued, slightly more gravely, "The Bird of Hermes is my name, Domnopalus, you may call me." His tone was slow in this last sentence, mysterious and riddle-like. He used the name ‘Domnopalus’ as if ‘Bird of Hermes’ and the previous were one-in-the-same.

"And so, my dear new friend Mister Jiggsaw, what do you suppose we do about our little bind with the humans?"

Jiggsaw's genetically enlarged fangs formed into a grin as the also 'smiling' creature recited Jig's fame. He did not enjoy the fame, he merely liked to know how the word of his rise to power was effecting the humans.
He listened carefully, his fur bristling as he became more and more interested in the personality of the 'Lord of the Swamp'.
The Leader did not speak until the hellhorse had completely finished.

And so, my dear new friend Mister Jiggsaw, what do you suppose we do about our little bind with the humans?

" I like you. " Jig spoke calmly, his reddish pink pupils narrowing, not threateningly however. " You think the same way as me. However, I do not intend to do anything about the humans until my army is large enough and strong enough to cope with it. At the moment my Deputy, Scarr, I'm sure you've heard of him too, he's known as Scarface among most creatures and K14 among humans, has started a recruitment. " He lay, now eye level with the creature that still dwelled in the river. " I ask you first to join me. You would make a good advisor. Even if you are not lets say...canid? You have been captured by the humans and mangled by them too I presume, this clan is not just for dogs that have been mutated you know. So I ask you..." He took a breath. " Become my trusted advisor, Bird of Hermes, and enter the land of P4 properly. I have heard of you. Many tales. All of which caught my interest, and now I meet you, and ask you, become one of the P4 Army. "
Jiggsaw's words showed barely any expression, but inside he felt as thought he could leap up and howl in success, he knew he was right about horses, what amazing creatures they were!

“An honor it would be, my friend Mister Jiggsaw,” he replied, lowering his head as if to bow, “but I must ask that you not limit me by any means…” he grinned slightly more and lowered himself slightly into the water so only his glowing eyes could be seen once more, and then continued, his voice garbled by the swamp water, “For I’m sure you know, my friend, that a restrained beastie is tenfold the more dangerous beastie.” He raised his head out of the water again to be level with the canid, his grin relaxing to his usual one and water mixed with acidic spit flushed out of his mouth from between his teeth. He finished, “Do we have an accord?” His gaze was piercing for the right answer as he awaited the hound’s response.

An honor it would be, my friend Mister Jiggsaw, but I must ask that you not limit me by any means…For I’m sure you know, my friend, that a restrained beastie is tenfold the more dangerous beastie.[/i]

Jiggsaw listened his ears flicking in interest at the swamp beast’s words. He thought over his answer carefully, but as he was to speak the beast spoke bluntly.

Do we have an accord?

Jiggsaw frowned. “ Indeed we do…but remember, my new advisor, who your leader is. ” He turned, looked back toward the river, “ Come, I will show you to the leader’s head quarters, and you will be pleased to know that a small, but very deep, pond is nearby it. ”

Domnopalus' grin widened and his eyes squinted sinisterly once more when he got the response he was waiting for.

"Very well, hound-Leader," he replied briskly to the first statement, and listened to the next. He continued in his deep, hissy voice, "I am much obliged to your hospitality, my friend." He proceeded to climb ashore, pulling himself slowly out of the foul water, draped in rotting seaweed. Dripping with the water and beginning to drool again, he followed the canine to his lair with anticipation.

Jiggsaw looked over the hellhorse's appearence with interest glittering in his semi-glowing eyes. He looked up at the grinning face, " Follow, if you have a lot of stamina left we will be there shortly, however, if you are tired from your journey here we can walk, but time is a virtue my friend. "

He turned, large, shaggy tail flicking in his wake, paused, crouched and leapt. He ran a few metres before quickly checking that his advisor was following.

"My stamina rarely depletes."

It was a singular, sinister comment suggesting many disturbing possibilities, but it was left to hang in the air as the beastie leapt after the P4 Leader. He carefully; gracefully followed the hound through the wilting Jungle, refreshing his 3-pair of eyes with land scenes rather than the underwater terrain he had been traveling in for a while. During this investigation of sorts, the swamp beast observed Jigg's false leg in action, noticing the slight, but unnatural stiffness of it in comparison to real organic material. He considered himself fortunate to have escaped before those filthy humans had tried any false limbs on him, if indeed they were planning on it. He put these traveling thoughts out of his mind and awaited the arrival to their destination.

((Anything is fine with me - I'd like to have more "adventures" but perhaps they can be created/continued in other threads ^^ There are so many possibilities - personally I'm kinda lookin toward some kind of confrontation with the humans or something, or a recapture attempt or literally "haunting" the labs and causing trouble. Like I said, anything is fine, but I'm on the lookout for unique and possibly quite dangerous adventures XD Thanks for the ranking! That'll add to the fun))
