It was a bitterly cold morning, not one in which most humans would enjoy but the cold alone, despite its efforts, could not stop the daily life of the humans in the village. Everywhere in the village people had begun bundling up in extra layers of clothing as breaths of cold air raked their way through the tight network of houses and streets that made up the human's living area. Mothers were up and about cleaning and gossiping like crazed hens. Children were outside playing obscure games in the streets. Scientists were arriving at the new Galt Labs ready to begin their day's twisted experiments. Even in the woods, one could be certain that the day time creatures were milling about beginning the days hunt or work. And although the village was teeming with activity, no one but the children and the animals were outside of their own will save for one man.

Dr. Spinus let out a soft grunt as he ascended the somewhat steep slope up to the deserted ruins of the old Galt Labs. He, like everyone else, had tried to dress warmly that day. A black turtle neck sweater and a dark pair of jeans gave as much warmth as his wardrobe would provide. A dark leather belt weaved its way around his waist and off it hung a small gun loaded with only three shots incase of an emergency.. With a semi-clawed hand, Spinus drew his white lab coat closer to himself and shivered. He would need to buy some new clothes soon if the weather continued to get colder.
With each shaky step, the bones in his ankles popped softly and gave off a small twinge of pain just enough to be an annoyance. He tried to hide the pain from showing on his face although there was no one around to see it. It was a habit he was used to doing ever since Rudolf had become sick. He didn't want to worry him more, his health was too fragile for more stress. Finally, the ruinous old building came into sight. With a heavy sigh, Spinus leaned his weight against his cane and halted his steps. A silent breeze blew through the area ruffling the man's odd hair and rustling the leaves along the ground.
As alone as the day it was destroyed, the ruins of the old lab were completely abandoned for not even an animal would hide in it to take shelter. The scientists moved onto the next Galt Labs, leaving the old building to rot. It was a sick joke of a shrine, in a way, commemorating the beast that had broken out. At least, that was how Spinus thought of it.
He often found himself drawn to the place to find solitude. The labs were far too busy and he never had a true feeling of ease with being the the tight confines of his office. The village, also, was far too busy for his liking. People where everywhere he looked. No, this was the place he would go for peace and quiet. The spectre of Jigsaw kept everyone else away and for that, Spinus was grateful.
Spinus turned and gazed out into the forest in the distance with a look of dull curiosity. It had been a long while since the hellion had broken out of it's confines and escaped into the forest. Spinus couldn't help but wonder if such a beast could still be alive after what had been done to it. 'No.' He mused quietly, 'There is no way that creature or any of the others could still be alive. They need us to feed them, to keep their hearts beating and breath in their lungs.' Despite his assurance, something deep within him doubted his words and a small sense of dread gnawed at his insides. Although he would never admit it, he knew just how wrong he was.
(Sorry for the crap post. x.o I'm terrible with introductions but I wanted to start up an rp so I wasn't completely inactive.)
