Come, take me away...
What a sky out that day! Big, bright and blue, just as he'd always imagined it'd be. Clouds swirled overhead, all white and poofy like cotton balls and shaped like soft clay. Some reminded him of ducks, others reminded him of cows or horses, and he even managed to pick out a dog or two amongst all the shapes. They seemed so happy, just floating on by on the same mid morning breeze that toyed with his dark brown hair. So carefree, the clouds... Unaware of pain, of sadness and depression, of anger and vengeance. So simple, such a simple, mindless life they lived...
Remove the fear from my eyes...
What he wouldn't give to live like that...
Feel the flame of my heart Burning away...
The hound's once light trot slowed to a slow halt, his neon-green gaze turning upward toward the heavens in thought. No scars... Not one of the clouds that dance above his sandy head were scarred. How lucky they must be. They're never injured, have nothing to fear and feel no pain... no agony. Why only the clouds? Why were they the only ones to get such a luxury? To live such a simple, meaningless life, one that could be enjoyed rather than simply fussed over?
All conversation tonight...
Why not him?
Hearing no one...
Shaking his narrow head in dismay, the tall brutish creature moved on, picking up his leisurely trot once again. No point in pondering what could not be changed, after all. But as he began to move off once again, something in his mind flickered, the way it always did. The once leisurely trot picked up speed, the tall creature's stride lengthening until he was loping. From loping came running...
Am I precious to you now...
From running, came the sprint.
Oh, Am I precious to you now...
With no thought as to where he was going or what awaited him there, he ran... Flat out running, his head down and pointed ears back against his streamlined neck. Long brown locks flowed behind him like the tail of a comet, the lead weight and heavy chains it attached to dangling uselessly... forgotten. They could not hold him back any more...
Now rise...

In the sea without lees Standeth the bird of Hermes Eating his wings variable And maketh himself yet full stable When all his feathers be from him gone He standeth still here as a stone
The Swamp Lord, as he had come to be timelessly called, stood there as a stone, hidden in the nearest edge of the forest, dripping still with the foul water of the downstream marsh from which he had come. Six deceptively blank-looking eyes pinpointed their lines of vision on the newly self-liberated hound.
He began to drool with anticipation.
Not a hungry drool was this, either. Not hungry for prey, at least. This hunger was that of something more sinister, perhaps indescribable. Domnopalus was looking for something. One of those somethings had just crossed into his line of vision as well, and that was very pleasing to this beast.
Another something--a non-physical something, this time--was starting to brew inside him. This potion would take a long time indeed to brew, but one must start somewhere or else not start at all. This potion may eventually brew to tasting like perhaps a raid...on those filthy humans. Later, though. Patience. That was one thing the Master Domnopalus had a-plenty.
And it begun here.
For a while at least, the oncoming hound did not notice the six-eyed beast watching him, and only as it drew closer did the beast move. Domnopalus' left ear flickered with anticipation--a clear but intentional giveaway to his whereabouts, to the sharp-sensed creature, that is. Further action may of course, need to be initiated by Domnopalus quite soon, and what better instigator than he?

Turn away
The sprint...
From the shame of your life
It seemed like the only thing he was good at, the only thing he was worth. Speed. it was his asset, his element, his own little land of make believe that he could reach in but a few moments. All it took was a little energy and some wind and he was all his own. This flat land was perfect for it too. Nothing stood in is way, nothing could hold him back, could keep him down. Not a thing...
Feel the light from my eyes
It was all his... for the taking...
Offering
But his little dream scape never lasted for long, the bolts in his side strangling him, pulling him back by his chains. His lack of breath might've been his savior this day however. As he slowed his pace to a gentle loping trot of sorts, it allowed him to focus on the land once again, focus on where he was headed and what might be waiting for him there. But the darkness was a poor disguise for the hellbeast that stood off to the side for the hound's glowing green pupils were for more than just show. He could see the horse clearly, as if it were standing only a few feet before him in direct sunlight...
Consolation tonight
But that didn't stop the hound's approach. he was unafraid of this beast...
Fearing no one
((It's so scary how well these lyrics describe this character. Consider that I typed this whole post and added the lyrics into every space at the end... o.O))

((That IS scary!! Jeez! XD I love it!))
Domnopalus turned his head to look the beast directly in the eyes. His teeth were clenched and exposed; the reptilian horse didn't have much for lips and had somewhat of an overbite when his mouth was fully closed. Dripping with acidic drool, they gleamed and then twisted into a grin, as if to say, Yes, come closer, and look upon who will deliver you.
Finally he spoke, in a slow, deep, greasy voice touched with a reptilian hiss, "What will you do now, now that you are free? What will you do? Attempt to live again, attempt to forget? You will never forget. Seek revenge on those who have done you wrong and only then will you finally be at peace! Then you can rest!"
He grinned even deeper, letting his tongue slink out of his mouth. A drip of drool rolled off the end of it as his six eyes squinted into the grin as it deepened.
These words came as brutally as truth.

Do you really think I covet like you do
The hound was about to simply trot on by the hellbeast that watched him so insidiously, his pace continuing to slow as his chest heaved around the metal rod that held him back so efficiently. However, the rather odd-looking creature spoke and, out of courtesy, he slowed to a stop rather casually considering this green beast was looking at him like a lion looked at zebra. But the hound flinched nor cowered before the six-way gaze, only taking a few defiant steps closer to the darkened treeline...
Come, take me away
As the area around him darkened, the spotted hybrid's gaze not only narrowed in suspicion but the once dim pupils of his eyes flashed bright for a moment before settling on a rather bright but less than blinding shine, the night vision so little were aware of kicking into overdrive as his head entered the shadows...
Remove the fear from my eyes
"You speak like you know so much..."
Feel the flame of my heart
He paused, chuckling a bit in the quiet tone he most often speaks in. Two-toned muzzle lit up in a rather awkward grin, the hound's massive overbite keeping his jaws from closing fully. Another who that he knew everything, but only truly knew what their foolish eyes could see and they stupid brains could rationalize...
Burning away
He hated creatures like that...
All conversation tonight
"... but if you'd stop making rather blatant assumptions for a moment, you might come to notice that I'm already dead. To live again is a useless and pointless endeavor. Vengeance, on the other hand, tastes better cold and what's colder than a rotting corpse?"
Hearing no one

His smile faded--how he hated creatures especially smaller than he who thought they knew the world. He lowered his head to the creature:
"You ought to mind your manners, you know," he whispered to him darkly, "Just because you are dead, my friend, does not make you invincible. If I were you, I'd remember that."
He raised his head and resumed regular tone, "I see our stories differ. If you will forgive me for allowing my lust to overcome me.." his tone grew harsh and hissed toward the end of that statement, and he exposed his gums and lowered his jaw and let his tongue fall out again. A drip of acidic saliva rolled off of it and landed by the hound's feet, leaving a steaming boil-mark in the ground. He quickly overcame this and closed his mouth, raising his head higher and regaining dignity.
"So, I assume you intend to let someone else do the dirty work? Your idea of vengeance is eating a rotting corpse?" his tone was snappy and disdainful, though he knew very well himself that he was poking at the beastie's 'poor' phrasing of words, "Unless," he took a stamp forward and leaned in very close, reducing his tone to a growling whisper once more, "you are implying that it is you who is the rotting corpse, and in that case, I wouldn't be talking about how good you taste cold, would I?" He licked his mouth slowly, spreading an even layer of saliva on his shallow lips.

((I'm running out of lyrics so... *shrugs*))
The hound's glowing green gaze narrowed in irritation at the strange creature's response. As always, he showed no fear, no cowardice toward something so much larger than him. This hell... horse? had done nothing that would suggest to the canine that it was anything but threatening in appearance... and appearence meant nothing. The acid saliva was enough to make the hound mentally flinch however, his body showing nothing but a slight curiosity toward the strange substance as it burned the grass. He'd been burned by acid before... and he had not enjoyed it...
The same narrowed gaze went from staring at the steaming ground back up to the face of the horse slowly...
"No, I guess you wouldn't..."
Trying not to let the acid bother him, the hound stepped to the side a bit, as if to circle the swamp beast but decided against it, instead flopping down into a casual sitting position, long limber legs curling up on either side of his form...
"No... vengeance will be mine and mine alone. There are to be no other players..."
The hound's train of sight drifted off to the side, landing on a patch of grass to his right and glaring at it fit to set it on fire. This beast was hitting all his buttons today... He was apparently one of those types that liked to over analyze...
One of those types he hated...

"Very well," he snapped. "To each his own, shall we say? I will let you fight your own battles, as each of us are entitled to do. However, without me on your side," his tone changed from proper and manneristic to greasy and poisonous, "don't expect to be treated like anything more than prey, by me." He grinned, teeth glistening with saliva.
"I am in no mood for a quarrel," he continued, changing his tone immediately back to the vain one he previously used, "and I am not hungry. I expect we will meet again soon, however, my tastey comrade." He looked directly at the hound's glowing eyes for a piercing split second before preceeding to elegantly bow, "Until then, shall we say, Adieu."
And with that he snapped a slobbery grin, spattering corrosive spit about, and dashed off in a brisk, but graceful trot; not a single look back.

The hound looked up in time to watch the horse-like creature turn about briskly, one of his spotted brows raising in slight curiosity. He found it strange that such an odd creature as that would leave so abruptly. then again, strange behavior from a strange beast seemed practical enough. Either way, he had no objections. Who was he to tell the horse what to do anyway? Not like he knew everything...
Getting to his feet slowly, the houdn groaned a bit as his metal hip caught, only making standing a more difficult task. After a moment's strain, the joint popped and slid into place with a slight screech.
Stupid metal joint... Thing was annoying as all get out.
Glowing green gaze traveled down to the limb slowly, then back up to where the other hellbeast had once been, it's green form now totally lost from sight. Without a word or a look back of his own, the once normal canine slowly went on his way as well, his pace slow and the faulty joint causing a slight limp in his elongated gait...
