"So this is all they're fighting over?"
The generally soft sound took flight on the wind from a rather awkward set of jaws, propped open at all times by an oversized set of fangs. The gentle evening breeze swept it off to some unknown place, somewhere far away from the hound that had spoke it. As to where exactly it'd gone, no one could ever know, one of the many mysteries of sounds... of voice...
But where the wind had taken his words was the last thing on the once canine's mind...
Green gaze traveled about the narrow valley, pausing to take in the towering mountains on one side as the sunset illuminated their faces in its bright orange glow. A picture of perfect nobility, the prideful, arrogant, bold mountains stood proud for everyone to see... always. Yet, right across the grassy expanse in which the underweight hound now stood, lay the jungle. Across from the nobility, the picture of darkness, of mystery and what most would consider evil. Two total opposites in the same stretch of land...
That is why there is fighting...
Letting it all sink into his troubled mind slowly, the sandy canine let his head droop in a sigh. Whose bright idea was it to put two total opposites in such a small area anyway? Mother nature had a strange way of organizing things...
You said it...
Brown ears perked a bit suddenly before laying back down as the hound's surprise by the voice only he could hear changed to irritation...
"Go away Izeya... I'm trying to have some alone time."
Anyone who stumbled upon him now would probably label him crazy as he stood there talking to himself. However, he could see, hear, smell and even feel the Idian cobra as it snaked its way up his back, resting upon the dark hair on his sandy colored head. As far as he was concerned, Izeya was real enough...
Now what kind of greeting was that? You need to work on you people skills...
He hound chuckled a bit, rolling his slightly glowing eyes at the invisible snake's comment...
"Well excuse me for being tortured all my life..."

Silent pawsteps heralded the arrival of a curious spectator, intrueged by the valley itself yet wary of the inhabitants. If they were dire wolves like her, would they realize that she was nothing but a hybrid? And the pictures - they had to mean something...
Pondering this as she slid along a random direction, unknowningly heading for the mountains that loomed like the forefathers of the world, she was perhaps at peace. There was only silence to welcome her however and not a breath of life as she had so hoped - but besides, she was probably better then the fraidy cats anyways. An arrogant smirk drew itself upon her tan-esque face, wrinkling the flesh on her snout menacingly. Thats right! They should be afraid of her. Immediately at that thought her slow walk turned into a badass strut with every feature held high.
And then she heard it - a voice on the wind, followed by a curious stentch that made her face change from a smirk to an expression of disgust. Metal and human scents were mingled with it, and the voice itself sounded unnatural to her. Interesting, but she would be saying different if she knew what it was; but she would find out soon enough.
Cautiously, Danger made her way forwards lowly, hiding behind a lone bush that happened to be at the right place in the right time. Oh my god! It was bloody deformed! A mixture of sick disgust and anger mingled in her golden orange eyes, which were currently narrowed, and her ears drew back into her skull. But once again she defied herself and stalked out forwards with dominant posture.
"Who are you and what are you doing here!" The ironically sweet voice growled out in demanding tones, impatience etched into her body posture.

Torture and undying desire for vengeance is no excuse for rudeness...
The hound smirked at the reptile's clever come back, his ears perking a bit as a sound tipped them off from behind. Always paranoid about the world around him, his head whirled, black and green gaze searching the bare valley behind him for the source, his underweight body relaxing when a squirrel scampered into the bushes...
"Rudeness isn't even a word, smart one..."
The snake opened its imaginary mouth wide to say something in retaliation but stopped short when a rather loud voice interrupted his train of thought. Both the invisible reptile and the former doberman pincher whirled around to face forward where a suspicious looking female now approached them. The Indian cobra gave an irritated smirk...
Geez hunny.... Shove that stick any further up your ass and you might poke your brains out...
The only visible half of the duo, the dank, smelly, sandy colored hellhound merely glanced in the direction of his imaginary friend but said nothing, knowing quite well that no one else could see the cobra. Instead, he kept his head lower than hers but neither tucked in his tail or lowered his body. This land did not belong to her and he had no reason to submit, other than to avoid a fight...
"Pardon my rhetoric but why does it concern you what I'm doing here?"

The hybrid prided herself on being rather normal looking compared to everyone else, a normal dire in an abnormal place, and compared to this mutt she probably looked like the most gorgeous thing in the world. But not right now, as her lips drew back to bear unusually long canines that spoke of something far more sinister then what you might think. A low growl rumbled like thunder on a stormy day within her throat, causing the little black box attatched to her collar to beep in response. Danger ignored it, as it was no use to her in this current situation.
And yet now anger seized her brain - limbs stiffly locking and posture snapping up more straight then before. How dare he question her logic! Golden orange eyes blazed, her voice slathered with the deadliest poison you could imagine. "Because! These are.. my lands!" She was rather hesitant in enforcing the idea that these were her lands, because of course they were not and it was just an over inflated bluff, but like any good liar, she didn't want the hellhound to know!
"State your name," The demands did not get any nicer then this, especially with her high-held thin tail and head, and instead of being plastered to her obsidian skull her ears were standing erect upon her head. Despite the fact that she was being an ass to the fullest, she looked good doing it.

The hound stared at the female, uncaring, his unnaturally glowing green gaze looking less than interested. He was not afraid of anything, not her, not death... not anything. There was nothing more terrifyng than the labs and what had been done there, and he'd long since gotten used to that. Now, something extreme would have to happen to scare this brute...
Or the imaginary snake curled around his back and neck...
Put those tiny teeth away bitch and a let a man show you some real sabers! Show 'em Tiger...
The hound visibly looked off to the side this time, glaring at what most would see as empty air just above his head. He knew otherwise. That stupid Indian cobra, whom the hound thought was just a random spirit that followed him around, was truly a reflection of his true thoughts and opinions, able to say the things he never would. Still, the reptile was rather irritating...
But the canine kept the comments to himself, ignoring his invisible friend and turning his uncaring, emotionless eyes back on the female...
"In your dreams maybe..."
The hound immediately closed his motuh, looking away in embarassment. that was not how that was supposed to come out...
"... Excuse my lack of manners, but I'm sure that these are not your lands and, even if they were, you would have no need for my name..."
That's telling her!
"Shut up..."
The hound mumbled under his breath, trying to keep his words under his breath and out of ear shot of the dire fae...
