Okay, the upgrade was successful.... sort of. My computer works but it's really slow because it doesn't have enough RAM to deal with the huge operating system. So, after adding some RAM, we're going to have to debunk a lot of little glitches that are plaguing the machine. One major problem we're having is the computer likes to suddenly turn itself off for no reason. So, if I suddenly disappear, you know why. I'm also kind of worried all this extra random RAM might blow out the motherboard, at which point it will be weaks before my dad can fix it again....
So, be on your toes. River's going to be in and out the rest of this week... ;3

Yesh, my dad is computer-god. X3 He can get a little carried away sometimes though, so bent on solving a problem that he creates a thousand others in the quest to solve that one little issue. I'm sure you all remember the modem escapade. >< And that all came about just because he wanted to fix a problem with the printer.... But, he does it well, whatever 'it' is exactly. ;3

Pretty much. I was pretty mad at him about that... X3
But I'm happier with him now. He actually took today off from work to try and fiix my computer, using the excuse that he had to take my mohter to a doctor's appointment. He did but instead of taking her and going back to work like he usually does, he stayed home and fiddled with the comp all day so it's working better but it still shuts down on me out of nowhere. Hence why I left a few minutes ago. ><
He didn't pick me up from school though. Wouldn't you know it? The one day it's finally below freezing and he makes me walk all the way home. <.<

My dad is weird too. Last time he tryed to fix my computer he managed to wipe it when he was geting the wireless set up. He once kicked a computer when it started to get all glitchy and broke the fan!X3

Meh. At least fans are an easy fix. ><
We've determined that the memory is NOT the problem and now we're kind of stuck with a crappy computer that doesn't work more than twenty minutes until my dad can debunk it some more. I'm gonna kill it. The next me and my computer are alone, I'm just gonna pick up a friggin' sledge hammer and... well, I'll let you take a guess...

lmao X3
Somehow, I doubt I'd give my computer anything other than a long string of curses at the moment. >< Everytime we fix one thing, it screws up something else. So, Winamp works now and Youtube kind of works a bit, but now the screen is all fuggly and warped and disgusting, the scanner won't talk to anyone and the whole computer won't run for more than 20 minutes before it literally turns itself off. *dies*
