Okay, something I learned at my animation class as of recent:
The simpler the character, the easier it is to animate.
So, I've come up with the idea of model sheets. A model sheet is pretty much just like a character sheet only more in depth. It's not about showing you what the character generally looks like, more about showing you the character's poses and movement, things that are essential when animating. It also gives other artists a good idea what exactly you want your character to look like from all angles.
I don't have a good example of one off hand but I'll be sure to post one when I get it. Pretty much, it's just a whole bunch of drawings of the same character, most if not all are left colorless. As I said, it's not about how the character appears so color isn't important. What the drawings should show is your character's facial expressions, how they'd look while talking, while walking, while running or jumping, and, of course while standing. It should also include various angles of view, mainly a front view, a profile view, a back view and a 3/4 pose. this will give us animators a better idea of how characters move, where their muscles are and their body structure and so on...
So, you know where I am going with this. I want everyone to do a separate model sheet of any of the characters they want to include in their scenes. So, Faust, you will have to make a character sheet for both Faust and his brother, as well as any other characters you want to appear in your scenes. keep in mind that 24 frames is a lot of drawing. If you can, try to simplify your character to make it easy on the inking and coloring artists since there are so few of us. Take River for example. I'm removing the chains on his sides, the fur on his stomach, the trails of bandaging on his tail, and a lot of the blood on him to make animating him a lot easier. Hopefully you guys will do the same....
And don't complain about how much work it is. Dom and I are doing to hard parts, this stuff is easy. Don't whine about your art skills either. No one else is going to do these model sheets for you. If you don't want to do them, your character just won't have a scene. Simple as that...
